Village Plan Update – April 2012

Hello everyone; an update is well overdue; so here it is.  For information, *Our* = the villagers of Newton Longville.

The Steering Group dwindled over the past year from 7 members to 4 stalwarts; nevertheless, at the time of writing we have completed our final draft version of the Plan.  We are at the point where the final touches to the document are taking place, so its been review, review, review for us.

We have been gathering background information to ensure all evidence and data is available to enlighten and inform every one of the processes we used.  It has all been reviewed by our contact at Community Impact Bucks who has given a small number of constructive amendments.  So we are now ready to release it to villagers for comment

All of the views expressed by you in the Community Survey have been interpreted into a ‘survey results’ document, appended to the main report, so that everyone who wishes to can see what burning, and less so, issues are on villagers minds.

Next steps will see the distribution and publishing of the document in print and in e-version. Following that we very much hope that those of you who feel enthused will join forces to become involved in taking the plan forward.  We need people with a desire to maintain what we already have and improve our village way of life to join forces and work on the Action Plans which have emerged from our work; to take forward the necessary projects to help improve our community in line with Villagers stated wishes.  Please make contact with Steering Group members to register your interest in whichever potential projects you feel drawn to.

The steering group are also holding an open event at the Newton Longville Free Church on Saturday 28th April from  11am to 3pm. Everyone is welcome.

If you know of friends or neighbour who may be interested in this event, but either do not have access to the Internet or may have missed the recent door to door leaflet drop giving notice of this event, please could you let them know.  Thank you.
